Aerospace Quality & Process Engineering — L.A. Gauge

Interned as an Engineering Intern at L.A. Gauge Company, a precision aerospace machining shop specializing in ultra-precision beryllium components, working within an AS9100/ISO 9001 quality system.

Authored standardized work instructions for the Material Review Board disposition workflow, embedding root-cause documentation requirements directly into the process — cutting average disposition time from 7 days to 3 and improving audit readiness.

Built custom Epicor ERP database queries and dashboards to automate scrap rate tracking, nonconformance reporting, and job status reporting, eliminating over 10 hours per week of manual data collection and giving the quality team real-time visibility into shop floor operations.

Traced a recurring bottleneck in the quotation-to-manufacturing handoff to missing routing information, then redesigned the workflow to restore full traceability from quote through final inspection.

Audited 50+ nonconformance reports against AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards, identifying gaps in root-cause documentation and revising the RCCA process — achieving 100% compliance ahead of a customer audit.
