SmokeyTheBearVR — Ultra-Low-Cost Hand-Tracking VR
Built a mobile VR game in a team of 3 at HackNYU, designed to raise awareness of climate change impacts, using the Unity VR engine and Google Cardboard SDK for accessible, low-cost deployment.
The standout technical piece: pairing a Leap Motion Controller with a Google Cardboard headset to achieve real hand-tracking in VR — creating an immersive, gesture-driven experience without the cost of a dedicated VR headset with built-in hand tracking.
Won 2nd Place for Best Sustainability Hack and the MLH Best Snapkit Hack at HackNYU.
